Normally, we have to vary the kind and amount of information we pass on to another person depending on what’s happening. If you have plenty of time, you can add detail; if you’re in a rush, you must focus on the basics. While this is obvious in our native languages, it can be a bit of a challenge in a foreign language. Today, you’ll practise choosing the right information for the right situation.

In this activity, you’ll speak about the same topic but for an increasingly shorter time. First, you’ll start by speaking about it for two minutes, then one minute and finally only thirty seconds. You should make sure you include all the important information in each.
