If you have plenty of time, you can add detail; if you’re in a rush, you must focus on the basics. While this is obvious in our native languages, it can be a bit of a challenge in a foreign language. Today, you’ll practise choosing the right information for the right situation.

In this activity, you’ll speak about the same topic but for an increasingly shorter time. First, you’ll start by speaking about it for two minutes, then one minute and finally only thirty seconds. You should make sure you include all the important information in each.
Speaking topic: Are you an early bird or a night owl, and how does it affect your daily routine?
As always with speaking exercises, I recommend you record yourself and listen to your recording to monitor your progress better.
