Whenever we want to share information or some kind of message, we need to structure the way we say it to make it easy to understand. There are many phrases and words in English that you can use. When listing a few things or ideas, the simplest way is to use the words first, second, third, then, etc.
Before you start today’s activity, spend a couple of minutes writing down a list of other words and phrases you can use to show the structure of your message.
Structuring Your Speaking
Next, it’s time to come up with some ideas for your speaking topic. Write down a few ideas and then organise them in the order you think makes the most logical sense. Remember to include a bit at the start as an introduction and a short summary or conclusion at the end.
Speaking topic: How do you handle stress or pressure in your life?
Try to speak for at least 2 minutes without too many pauses. As always, I recommend you record your speaking so you can listen to it afterwards.
